Installation of the Sunnyvale community Quilt
Topic: Sunnyvale Community Quilt

From April, 2004 through October, 2004 I designed and facilitated the fabrication of the "Sunnyvale Community Quilt". The 14'x14' four panel public artwork was installed in early December at the new Sunnyvale Senior Center. The center's staff arranged a beautiful slide show (featuring photos by quilter Mary Ann Kasaitis)which was given just before the unveiling, of the entire fabrication process involving twenty-five talented quilters from the Sunnyvale, Ca. community. You can see this beautiful work of art at the Sunnyvale Senior Center, 550 Remington Drive, Sunnyvale,Ca. Call 408-730-7624 for more information.

Topic: Sunnyvale Community Quilt
I am working on a Public Art Quilt for the City of Sunnyvale, CA. I designed the quilt to reflect the values, characteristics and history of the people. I was given input from a group of Senior Citizens from Sunnyvale and out of this list, I formulated the design. Since June 22, 2004 I have been working with a group of wonderful, creative Seniors at the New Senior Center to construct the 14'x14' quilt, which will be installed on a large wall in the building sometime in December. Stay tuned for the latest developments!!

Best Wishes, Therese

Topic: Quilts Japan
Hi, everyone! I just recieved a magazine in the mail from Nihon Vogue Publishing Company in Tokyo, Japan. They are featuring ten years of the "Quilt Japan Award", given to ten American Quilt Artists. These artists include Rise Nagin,1994; Therese May, 1995; Ellen Oppenheimer, 1996; Tersa Barkley, 1997; Liz Axford, 1998; Jane Sassaman, 1999; (2000?) Linda MacDonald, 2001; Jane Dunnewold, 2002; and Elizabeth Busch, 2003. The winning quilts will be exhibited at the Houston International Quilt Festival in late October this year. Some of the American Quilt Artists will get together for lunch to meet some of the visiting Japanese Quilt Artists. Until next time, Therese
