PAINTED QUILTS
In the early eighties, after spending much time alternating between painting and quilting, I discovered that I could just paint right on my quilts. I would finish constructing the quilt and then I would apply little dabs of acrylic paint to accent the colors and textures of the piece until I felt I was finished. I still paint on all of my quilts. I love the process of mixed media layering. I offer a "Painting and Embellishing on Fabric" workshop. If you just paint on a 12"x12" square of fabric, you can have complete freedom, because you already have the understanding that this is just to play; to have fun!
