GALLERY 3
EMBELLISHED QUILTS

Another layer of the Mixed Media Quilt, is hand sewing buttons, beads and polymer clay buttons, as well as hand embroidery. These processes can take the place of quilting, because in the sewing, (of buttons and beads, etc.) the three layers of the quilt, including the quilt top, batting and backing are secured together. These objects of embellishment can sometimes add personal meaning to the piece, while at the same time give it a three dimensional effect. You can have a great time looking for and collecting buttons and other interesting stuff for your quilts!
